Day 22, 23 - Chapter 22,23

Day 22, 23 - Chapter 22, 23

Chapter 22

I must say being 22 chapters into Proverbs, I’m pretty sure we have touched on almost every topic. I continue everyday to be amazed at how much wisdom and insight there is in the book of Proverbs for us today!
“Humility and the fear of the Lord being wealth and honor and life,” verse 4. This is the honor that I want to be known for, the wealth that I want to build up in my knowledge base.

Being a parent is one of the most difficult things, we always joke and say, “Wish there was a parenting manual!” The truth is there IS!!!!!!! Hello… The BIBLE… I seem to forget that it is all laid out there, for us parents, on how we should raise our children. If we KNOW God than we know how to love our children, if we KNOW God than we know how to discipline our children and the list goes on… IF WE KNOW GOD. Verse 6, “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” I believe that if we are faithful to God he will be faithful, if we teach our children- God will be faithful and bring them home after walking away.

Day 23 – Chapter 23

In the beginning of this chapter I feel like it really talking about jealousy, not to envy those with money etc…. in the end it will leave you empty.

When we get to verse 10-11 and this verse discusses that we should not cheat the orphans because “For they have a powerful Advocate who will go to bat for them.” Wow, that’s some powerful words- I know that my God battles every day for me I want nothing less than to seek his face and what path he has for me and my family.

Than we go onto to read again, about disciplining your children and how it is vital, vs 13-14.
“Do not let your heart envy sinners” – sometimes it’s easy to think others have it so much easier- more fun etc…. The grass is always greener on the other side --- until you get there!
